Letter from Erline to LeGrand, November 3, 1940
Nov. 3, 1940
My dearest LeGrand,
Thanks so much for your nice letter I got yesterday. I am so glad when I can hear from you. It makes my heart sing.
I have been real busy since you left. Yesterday I made me a dress and last nite I stayed home and embroidered a dish towel. I have three done that I can show you when you come. I don't know if I will have any more done this week or not, as I have to wash and iron, clean house and wash my hair by Thurs. nite. I hope you will be here Friday nite or Sat. if you can't make it sooner.
Monday and Tues. I will have to take my lunch as I have promised Marie, Jean, Mrs. Anderson, and Bessie to cut out a dress for them. I'll have to cut two dresses each noon. I just hope they don't ask me to sew them as I have about all I can do at nights anyway.
Thanks so much for the designs. I'm going to use them. Did you draw them? They are sure cute.
Did you go to Sunday School today? I did. It was fast Sunday again. I miss you. I paid my tithing again today. I have paid it in full for quite awhile now and I feel that the Lord blesses me. My money goes much farther.
LeGrand you surely have been busy. Please don't work too hard. You might do too much and get sick abed. I worry when you work so much.
I'm glad you help your father. Then he won't care so much if you come to Logan. I think your folks are swell. I sometimes wonder what they think of me.
Have you heard any more about your mission? It will all come in due time.
How is all of your family?
LeGrand, I am so glad you went to Sacrament Meeting with me. I am so proud to be seen in church with you. I hope I may be worthy to always go to church with you. You seem to be a part of me. When you are here I feel so satisfied and contented.
Do you think you will be able to come next week end? I do hope so as I surely would like to see you again. Today has gone quite slow when I am here and you are in Tooele.
LeGrand, How is your cold? Is it very bad? Did it make you sick? Please take care of yourself. Be careful driving when you come as the roads might be wet and slick.
It is now signing off time.
Good luck to you always.
Keep smiling until I see you.
I still think you are the swellest person I have met.
All my love to you.
