Bill received his associate degree from Ricks College in the spring of 1968:

At about the same time, Walter graduated from BYU with his master’s degree in music:

Hill Cumorah trip, July-August 1968

In late July/early August 1968, Walt and Erline signed up with Oneida Austin to go on a Greyhound Bus tour of church history sites and the Hill Cumorah Pageant. Weldon’s farewell, October 6, 1968

Notable visitors for Weldon’s farewell included (besides brothers and parents), Uncle Albert Whipple’s family from Bountiful, UT, as well as Aunt Joyce Atkinson, Grandpa Earl Joseph Atkinson, and Grandpa Dewey Whipple and Grandma Esther Whipple. (A week later Weldon entered the mission home in Salt Lake City. He arrived in Japan on October 20, 1968.)
